Budget Microphones Under $50 - Movo VXR4000 Pro, Movo VXR5000 Pro, Blue Snowball - Comparison & Review

Hey guys! I originally planned to do an individual review for the Blue Snowball, but I decided to include it in my video review of the Movo VXR4000 Pro and VXR5000 Pro microphones instead.

In the video, I start off with a Metal Gear Solid inspired intro to illustrate the importance of audio quality (albeit in a dramatic way!), and continue on to the microphone reviews. A video with crystal clear picture, but horrible audio quality isn't something people are going to want to watch (nor understand).

 In the audio comparison portion of the video, I compare the built in microphone on the Canon 70D DSLR camera to the three microphones. Although, the Canon 70D built in mic is useable, it lacks the necessary low end and clarity to give you a nice full sound.

The Movo VXR4000 Pro has great sound quality but lacks some of the low end that the newer VXR5000 Pro model offers. It does, however, produce a louder sound than the VXR5000 Pro, which some users may prefer. As with most products that rely on human senses for evaluation, preferences in sound will vary from person to person.

The Movo VXR5000 Pro is a nice step up from the VXR4000 Pro. It provides better build quality and a fuller sound than the VXR4000 Pro. The main turnoff for some may be the heavier weight of the newer unit. Once again, the sound and weight difference choice will come down to personal preference.

The Blue Snowball is a phenomenal voiceover microphone. It has three settings for a variety of recording scenarios, and excels in all measurable qualities. The Blue Snowball also comes with a sturdy tripod stand for you desk, and its overall build quality is nothing to snuff at. This mic can also play multiple roles if you want to make video calls or game online. Setup is also extremely simple, as all you'll need to do is plug in the USB.
